With their theater shows Släpstick and The Roaring Twenties, the virtuoso musical clowns of Släpstick created an international furor. Sold-out venues from the Netherlands to New Zealand, standing ovations, and a shower of awards were the result. Now they return with Schërzo, their quirky, whirlwind, and hilarious take on classical music. Expect slapstick comedy with beautiful and moving music, where everything goes hilariously wrong but ultimately falls into place. At Släpstick, Bach’s beautiful preludes suspiciously resemble a Greek sirtaki. A bust of Beethoven battles a ventriloquist duel with a yodeling Schubert, Figaro joins Holland’s Got Talent, you hear the Danse Macabre on theremin, the Erlkönig on trampoline, tennis with violins, tapping to Mozart, a wondrous Nutcracker and much more! The four gentlemen play and entertain to the stars and, en passant, honor such heroes as Victor Borge, Mini & Maxi, Danny Kaye, Charlie Chaplin and The Marx Brothers. Schërzo is a spectacular, moving evening of classical music like you’ve never experienced before.
