Släpstick
VARIETY AT A HIGHLY HIGH LEVEL
About Släpstick
Släpstick is a music theater group that has been performing in theaters with its own and co-productions since 2003. The group is hard to compare with others: they operate at the intersection of physical comedy, choreography, and music. Together, the five men master virtually every conceivable instrument, many at the highest level.
To date, Släpstick has developed its own shows and collaborated with the likes of Scapino Ballet, Brigitte Kaandorp, the Residentie Orkest, and Ellen ten Damme. Släpstick played a major role in productions such as Stormruiter (2018) and the Weltweihnachtscircus in Stuttgart (2017). The show ‘Släpstick’ was appreciated by both press and audience. To boost internationalization, Släpstick performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2017, where they promptly won the Spirit of the Fringe Award for the most compelling debut. The show then played in the UK, Germany, Denmark, France, and New Zealand.
The show Schërzo also played at the Fringe Festival, won awards, and was surprised with the Seoul Arts Award in South Korea.
